Pool Security Fence

When we often talk about home security fences, we will include a snippet about pool fences. The reason for this is a pool security fence saves lives. There is no advertising needed more than that. If you have small children or ever have anyone whom has small children visit, it would be in your best interest to have a fence around your pool. Even without children or visiting children, it is crucial to have a fence. There have been many stories of neighboring children wandering into others backyards and finding an unfenced pool. Drowning is the second highest cause of death for kids under 14, obviously this is centered more on younger children but you understand the purpose. These are not scare tactics, just truth. All it takes is a few seconds at a barbecue, the loud noise, people distracting you, and your life is changed forever.

To save yourself this kind of trouble and heartache, a pool security fence is what you need. Depending on if its aboveground, built into a deck or your standard pool, there is no one type of fence. As long as it is sturdy, high enough, and locks, you should be ok. Something with vertical bar design would be good to disable any “climbers” that may come up against your fence.

A pool safety fence should be at least 5 feet high if not taller, with anti-climbable features. It would be wise to not have any objects nearby that could assist someone in climbing the fence. Rock piles, easily movable tables, chairs, and any other objects that could assist a child. A latch with an alarm can be included if perhaps the pool is not easily within eye or ear shot. A high latch is also a good idea.

Other advice that we can give is things like having a phone nearby as well as knowing CPR just incase the worst should happen. Honestly, everyone should know the basics of CPR, they could come in handy.

There really is no other protection better than a fence for your pool, teaching your children to swim as young as possible is a good idea but should not be substituted for a fence. Be responsible for your pool, it’s a luxury and can be a dangerous one if not prepared.
